06 NIGHTS / 07 DAYS

LEH AIRPORT (ARRIVAL) – LEH (02 NIGHTS) – NUBRA VALLEY (02 NIGHTS) – PANGONG LAKE (01 NIGHT) – LEH (01 NIGHT) – LEH AIRPORT (DROP)

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN LEH (10 KMS/ 1 HRS)

After reaching Leh airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Spend the day in the hotel resting and acclimatizing while drinking plenty water. Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace and the Market in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.

DAY 02: LEH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing on the Leh – Srinagar Highway. Visit the Hall of Fame.  This is a museum maintained by the Indian Army showcasing their strength during the different wars fought, Kali Mata Temple (Spituk Monastery) & Gurudwara Patthar Sahib supposed to be built to mark the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to this area. Proceed further and experience the effects of Magnetic Hill which is set to defy the law of gravity and admire the confluence of Indus & Zanskar (Sangam). Return back to Leh for an overnight stay.

DAY 03: LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY (130 KMS/ 5 HRS)

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley (the warmest region in Ladakh) via Khardungla Pass. En route, admire the spectacular views of the never ending snow-capped mountain ranges around Khardungla pass 5,359 m (17,582 ft). Continue down to Nubra – known for its picturesque valley featuring sand dunes, bactarian camels, the swift Shyok river, and the Diskit Monstery. After hotel check-in, enjoy Camel Safari in the evening. After check-in, relax and head out around late afternoon for camel rides, ATV ride options and walks around the quiet neighborhood. Overnight stay in Nubra.

DAY 04: NUBRA VALLEY LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast drive to Turtuk (which is first time opened for the tourist in 2010) which is a place Annexed by India only after the 1971 war, the village of Turtuk is one of the only Balti villages in India and lies right next to the LOC. The village with the whole population of muslims still resembles mini Pakistan. The village’s inhabitants still use traditional utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the village offers views of beautiful valley, part of Shyok Valley. Though a Muslim village, there are few gompas located on the plateau above Shyok River and there is a old royal house to see in village. Also visit Thang View Point (Last village of India, beyond which one can see the Indo-Pak border) & then return to Hundar by the evening. Overnight stay in Nubra.

DAY 05: NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE (185 KMS/ 5 – 6 HRS)

After breakfast, we will start the day following the same route towards Leh until Khalsar. From the Agyam bridge, we will take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The road after Shyok is good but very steep. After Durbuk, take left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14000 ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one third part lies in India. Explore the lake area and walk along its banks, do a bit of bird watching. Spend the evening walking along the shores of the lake. Overnight stay in Pangong.

DAY 06: PANGONG LAKE TO LEH (230KMS/ 5 – 6 HRS)

After breakfast, travel back to Leh. En route take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. Visit Thikshey Monastery, Rancho School and return back to Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.

DAY 07: LEH AIRPORT DROP

After breakfast, get transferred to Leh Airport for boarding the flight to your destination. The drive from Leh to Kushok Bakula Airport takes about 20-30 minutes.
